During the lunch of Christmas in the house of relatives I have noticed an alive orchid in a vase and on I break down it a glass door that gave toward the wood, I have tried different diaphragms, until I have found one of them pleasant. Thanks for the criticisms and the suggestions

Hi Eugenio, i like this original version more then the second retouched version. I guess you also did sharpen this one? The sharpness is good, also the colors. The background has a strange blur but it fits and gives good contrast with the subject. It's pitty that you've vropped the leave in the right side.

Regards, gerard

While it's a very nice photo, I can't give it any more than 2 TUs. Clarity is excellent. Depth is also very good. The problem I see is in the lighting. I think that you should have used some kind of fill flash. The flowers just don't stand out like they should.

Hello Eugenio, I does not find beautiful your flowers submission, it gives so many kinds of the Orchidee and you a particularly pretty white found and photographed, the contrast between the sheets and flowered pleases me much, the background affects me a little jerkily however makes anything,

Manfred writes down his critics in German and translates them to English with some software. "Huh" is for the software :))

The critique is unintelligible to me not to mention contradictory. I guess all those people who marked it helpful translated it back to German eh?

I wonder if there's a bilingual user who'd be willing to translate into English rather than compugeek for Manfred. He's a pretty staunch member!

Nice shot with the blur effect of the background. Because the flower probably behind the sunlight, I feel that the flowers are lost the detail in this photo. Use flash fill may be nice. In addition, image is a bit soft. Sharpen it will be better. Also, the large leaf at the top is distracted me. I understand this is not your fault. Sorry for my poor English and thanks for sharing. ^_^!

I really like this composition and the colour, including the background of this orchidee (it seems there is something for every taste in the critiques you received). However I think a little crop on the bottom and include some more of the leave at the bottom left would have enhanced this picture even more. Overall just fine for my eyes!

Hi Eugenio. This is very fine shot, with a little of blurred effect on the background that adds more atmosphere to the scene. There's a strange sensation, even, of movement, due to the particular drawings of leaves of the plants, and a pleasant sensation, too, of volume, due to the fine light on the flowers's petals.
I like this thing, cause it doesn't seem the usual very perfect flower's photo taken for a botanic book, but it's a flowers's plant that, in such a way, lives with us. Thanks for this your fine intuition.
Ciao Eugenio.

Eugenio, nice image, but color of background is close with flower, so I prefer in black color background. Otherwise, you can darken the backgroudn by PS too.

Also, lighting of image is not in well balance, so some is too bright and some is dark, details of flower is lost in too much.

Therefore, please take the pic with black cloth background is better. At least, it is helpful for lighting.

Hi Eugenio! Nice macro of a flower very well composed! The background is perfect (it seems behind a window glass due to some "dust" visible in the upper left part but I not sure) perfectly blurred leading the eye to the flower. Jose Paulo

Very beautiful nature picture Eugenio.I like much the cut, the tonality of all the composition and made the technical part very well.Perhaps by the color and the set of the composition it transmits something similar to the sadness.Very good the background in blue. For me,it is a wonderful work.Best regards,Marta

Hi Eugenio, it's a nice flower shot.
It has a nice colors. Blury background works very well for me. In my opinion there is a lack of a little sharpness on the flowers, but still i like the entire pic. Regards
