Eugenio, I understand you try hard to improve this image, but result is not good though.

Please use the PEN TOOL to crop out the flower, with selection of pixel in "ZERO", so you can avoid the glow around the flower.

Certainly, take the pic in black color background, applying the black color cloth or card, this is much helpful.

Try to take the better image in next time. Keep going!

Wow talk about a shot that has something all over the board. Like the photo Eugenio. As for just a photo of the orchid I like the other better, for emotional appeal this one has a surreal effect. This looks like something you might see on a card. Nice job.

The subject is beautiful but the focus it's not right for me. May you could take the photo far from flower.

Ciao! I prefer the original version. I think that you need more training in the selection of Photoshop. The flower is too complex for a good selection without training. So, 1 tu meaning "overall good effort but in need of (lot, I say) improvement. The effect of the backlight in the dark background does not fit well to my eye. Jose Paulo

Sorry Eugenio,
I think this was a snapshot that is not very attractive:
- The edges of the flowers are destorted.
- The core of the flowers cannot be seen properly, too much backlight. It would be way better of also lighted from the front.
- You cropped the leaves at the right.
To be honest, the original (which I just looked at) was not worth more then 1TU for me, you now just made it worse with too much PS... Try not to overdo it.

Great picture, but here come the buts. But this, But that. Really all well meant, so please do not be offended. You are using PS as as a knife, not as a scalpel. It might be good not to take it too far: your fab pic might not need as much softening. It is only my opinion but I think you have gone for the PS sliders>filters>etc wuthout thinking what your really cool pic could shout about.

Thanks Matthew for the criticism and the comment, is not offended me if you tell me that something is not all right, rather they are the things that I appreciate more for learning.

Big fine work of PS, the black background stands out still much more the beauty of the flower. It seems almost that the flower have actual light!

Great soft focus view of the flower with almost a transillumintion quality to the petals. While my preference would be for sharper clarit, what you have crafted works very well. The black background and the lighting are excellent. 2.5 TU

Hello Eugenio, your second expenditure of the beautiful flower, which Orchidee has so a soft character, which pleases me very good, is not thereby the contrast to the background not so hard, which becomes effective colors here better and the viewer is pleased, it gives nevertheless approximately thirty thousand kinds and you have yourself one the most beautiful here presented, excuse my English, best regards Manfred

I think you are WAY out-of-line to make a comment like this. While it may not be a perfect photo.. I think it is FAR to extreme to call it a "terrible" photo.
